Nandan Nilekani is the Founder and Chairman of Infosys Technologies Limited. He was the Founding Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in the rank of a Cabinet Minister from 2009- 2014. Most recently, Nandan has co-founded and is the Chairman of EkStep, a not-for-profit effort to create a learner centric, technology based platform to improve basic literacy and numeracy for millions of children.
Rajnish Kumar is the Chairman of country’s largest lender State Bank of India. Before his appointment as the Chairman, Shri Kumar was the Managing Director since May 26, 2015 looking after retail banking and latest initiatives in payments and digital banking. Prior to that, he headed SBI Capital Markets Ltd., which is the merchant banking arm of SBI, in the capacity of MD & CEO. The son of an irrigation department employee in Uttar Pradesh and a postgraduate in physics from Meerut University, Shri Kumar is the youngest of four siblings. He did his schooling from BAV Inter College and went on to pursue his B.SC from D.N. Degree College. He could not qualify for the IAS, though he did clear the preliminary exam twice, and when he got a PO (probationary officer) job at the SBI, there was a lot of excitement in the family.
Carrying a large suitcase, he got into the first-class compartment for the first time in his life on a train from Meerut to Etawah. He reached Etawah at 3am, spent the rest of the night in the railway station’s ramshackle waiting room and took a bus in the morning to Auraiya tehsil for his first posting.

Mr. Dilip Asbe is the MD & CEO of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Prior to this, he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NPCI. He has played a pivotal role in designing, building, operationalisation and management of large scale innovative payments processing platforms like Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), Aadhaar enabled Payment System (AePS), India’s home grown card network RuPay and much acclaimed Unified Payments Interface (UPI). A formidable leader to the core, he has ensured the delivery of processing over 4 billion transactions a month with good mentoring of teams. He was awarded the ‘Changemaker of the Year’ award for the revolutionary product UPI which he spearheaded, by one of the leading business dailies. He was also awarded the ET award 2018 for ‘Policy Change Agent of the Year’ award for UPI. Very recently, he was awarded the Financial Express Award in Fintech category from the Hon’ble FM, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman.

Tac Watanabe is Executive Vice President of the Brand Infrastructure & Technologies unit of JCB, and is responsible for developing and managing the delivery of products such as EMV, 3-D Secure, contactless and mobile payments. He is also leading the development of emerging products and services, including digital payments, EMV tokenization and biometrics authentication, in order to deliver JCB’s unique value to its stakeholders. Tac was appointed to this position in January 2012.
Tac has spent most of his 28-year career with JCB in the global area, making significant contributions to expanding the JCB brand globally. He was based in the U.S. for 6 years, and during his last 2 years in Los Angeles, he was in charge of smart card and other advanced technologies for the region.
Upon returning to Japan in October 2003, Tac assumed management responsibilities for emerging payment initiatives including global standardization activities such as EMVCo. Throughout his career, he has led multiple important projects including the commercial launch of J/Secure (JCB’s 3-D Secure solution), JCB Contactless (JCB’s contactless solution) as well as Apple Pay in Japan in 2016.

Deepak Bagla has a professional career of over three decades, starting with the World Bank in Washington DC. He was involved in the first wave of enhanced supervision during the liquidity crisis in the UK in 2007-2008, monitoring institutions struggling to navigate the liquidity landscape in difficult market conditions. Prior to his role as a supervisor, he worked as a policy advisor in Operational Risk providing policy advice regarding electronic money regulations in the UK and EU. Notably during his time at the FSA, he spent 6 months seconded to the CGAP Policy and Technology teams to work on electronic money regulations and the development of proportionate regulatory frameworks for branchless banking. He has a Masters in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and is currently based in Brussels.

Prior to joining Omidyar Network India, Roopa spent 23 years with CRISIL, and was its managing director and chief executive officer from 2007. Varun Malhotra brings 8+ years of venture investing experience across technology, financial services and impact, and is currently a Principal at Quona Capital. Hitesh Sachdev is a veteran banker with ICICI Group, with a highly rich and diverse 19 years of experience across innovation, fintech, Hitesh presently heads the Startup Engagement and Investments at ICICI Bank. He has played an instrumental role in setting up the Innovation team and executing cutting edge technology led projects for ICICI Bank in collaboration with FinTech startups. Simmi is a veteran in financial services with more than 18 years of experience in credit and lending. She launched the impact debt fund at Grameen Capital in India. Prior to this, Simmi’s work focused on identifying and addressing the challenges that small businesses face in raising debt capital as Business Head for Intellegrow, a pioneering venture debt fund. In her earlier assignment, she headed credit & research at Morgan Stanley, where she successfully set up and managed a multi-personnel global sell-side research team covering equities, credit, macroeconomics and cross-asset strategy during the challenging business environment of the financial crisis.
A chartered accountant by education, and with a career focused entirely on SME financing, Simmi is uniquely placed to understand the challenges and demand-gap in debt financing in India and bridge the needs between lenders and SMEs.
